Zucchini

Zucchini, also called courgette, is a type of summer squash originating from Mesoamerica.

Storage

Zucchini lasts on average for a week in the fridge, but can last as long as two depending on storage method. Washing them, drying them, then wrapping them in a paper towel and storing them in some sort of bag tends to help them last the longest.

Usage

Zucchinis are used all around the world, but have become most common in French, African, and Italian cuisine. The skin is edible, as well as the inner fruit. The stem of the zucchini is not edible and must be cut off before cooking.
