Farmstand and Food Distribution Manager- Full-time 

The Ave 33 Community Farmstand is open on Saturdays from 10am-1pm, and provides low cost, affordable, fresh, local produce to residents of Lincoln Heights and surrounding neighborhoods. Community members can purchase produce at a discounted rate with EBT, and at sliding scale rates with cash. On Tuesdays, Ave 33 Farm distributes  about 2,000 lbs of free organic produce with volunteers and community members. The farmstand/distribution manager would be responsible for managing and operating these programs on a weekly basis. 

We are looking for someone who is…

• Friendly, amicable and makes a space feel welcome to community members. 
• Someone who is knowledgeable about produce and agriculture.
• Has some experience coordinating events, or managing a retail space.
• Familiar with basic outreach, marketing to community members, and able to communicate with customers via email. 
• Can use or learn to use G Suite, Excel, Word, Calendly etc. 
• Must be able to work Saturday mornings-afternoon
• Able to lift 40 pounds and engage in manual physical labor while maintaining efficiency. 
• Has access to a reliable vehicle and a valid license. 
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Has an interest in local food systems and improving food access in North East LA. 
• Plus, but not required: basic graphic design skills.

Duties Include:

• Sourcing and picking up wholesale produce from local farmers.
• Weekly email correspondence and coordinating with farmstand customers, volunteers and community members.
• Posting farmstand content onto social media.
• Managing weekly CSA orders.
• Harvesting produce and general farm work.
• Packing and preparing of CSA boxes
• Setting up, working, and breaking down weekly farmstand on Saturdays
